Indec is the Independent Project Verifier for the Brisbane Metro Vehicle and the Charging Infrastructure of the Brisbane Metro Project.
A key component of the Project is the delivery of 60 battery-electric, high capacity, metro vehicles capable of carrying up to 180 passengers with fast charging infrastructure at end of route and charging at the new vehicle depot under construction at Rochedale. The low floor vehicles will provide a high level of accessibility and provision for up to three wheelchairs.
Indec reviewed and verified the planning documentation, design, manufacture, testing and commission the Metro Vehicle and the Charging Infrastructure and ensured that the project is being delivered in accordance with the Design and Build Deed, the Performance Specification and the relevant Australian Design Rules, Disability Access Standards and Performance Based Standards.
Indec remains independent of the client and the vehicle supplier throughout the project to provide assurance that the vehicles are delivered in accordance with the Deed which was signed in February 2020. Indec also witnesses tests and comments on progress reports from the supplier.
Our work contributes to the successful delivery of the 21km turn-up-and-go service that aims at reducing travel time and reducing bus congestion in the Brisbane central business district.
